2012 Summer Intensive Registration (Seattle)

The two-week Summer Intensive Program for 2012 is scheduled to run from July 16th to 27th, 2012, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, along with a few film screenings in the evenings during the two-week session. The middle weekend will have optional events planned as well. On-site registration will be held in the late afternoon on Sunday, July 15th.

Core courses offered in the 2012 program include:

  • Film Scoring I: An Overview of Film Scoring
  • Film Scoring II: Composition Techniques for Writing Dramatic Music

Students also choose two of the following electives--one for each week. 
(Note: Each elective must meet a minimum enrollment number before it can be offered.)

  • Digital Performer (beginner or advanced)
  • Logic Audio: (beginner or advanced)
  • Finale (beginner or advanced)
  • Songwriting for Film
  • Studio Technology
  • Composing for Interactive Games
  • Practical Music Theory for the Contemporary Composer  * (See Note below)

REGISTRATION PROCESS DETAILS

To register for the 2012 Summer Intensive Program and pay in full now:

  • If you want to request hotel accommodations during the summer program, please select the appropriate options before clicking register--or to double-confirm that you do not require hotel accommodations through our special rates. 
    NOTE: After June 18th, 2012, special program rates cannot be guaranteed.
    • Your credit card information is required to reserve a room, but you will not be charged for the hotel reservation until you check in at the hotel.
    • After you register, we will contact you by e-mail with details on roommate selection and completing your registration.

  • Click the register button at the bottom of this page to complete the registration process on this site. The next page will allow you to pay for the course through PayPal by credit card. Your registration will not be processed, and your place in the course reserved, until the course payment is made. 

Note *: Be sure to give us three elective choices in case your first choice is not available because too few people requested the elective.
Also a link to download the sample music theory test and test key will be provided to when payment for the course is received from Pay Pal in the payment step after clicking "Register" below. This test is similar to the one administered on the first day of our program to determine whether you will be required to take Practical Music Theory for the Contemporary Composeras your Week I elective. Preferred Electives
You can choose two (2) electives to take in the third session of each day -- ONE for the FIRST week and another ONE for the SECOND week. Please indicate your top two choices for electives AND one alternate choice in case we are unable to give you your first two choices. We will do our best to honor all first choices.
* Students may choose one elective per week; however, the "Practical Music Theory For The Contemporary Composer" elective is mandatory for students who do not pass the Film Scoring Theory exam administered on the first day of the program.

Payment for Hotel (Only complete if staying at hotel!):
If you are reserving a room, we will need to take your credit card information to hold your room at the special program rate. Your card will NOT be billed or run through until check in at the hotel. Payment for the course is by PayPal in the next page, after finishing the registration, by clicking the Register button below.
