As a provider of educational opportunities
for students, The Pacific Northwest Film Scoring
Program does not offer services for professional
productions, filmmakers or composers. Student musicians
who perform on the scores do so for the educational
experience of working in a recording studio environment. |

THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST FILM SCORING PROGRAM
The Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program, with courses offered in
Seattle, Washington, provides training to music composition students,
composers and others interested in the art of modern film scoring.
Founded in 1997 by two-time Emmy Award-winning composer/arranger/conductor
Hummie Mann, the program teaches both theory and methods for

Thank you for your interest in the Pacific Northwest
Film Scoring Program.
I
am thrilled and honored to be taking over lead instruction
here at the Pacific NW Film Scoring Program as of Fall,
2009.
I believe strongly that the core curriculum we've developed
over the last 11 years is a great one, and as the new lead
instructor I will continue teaching this curriculum. Going
forward, we will also be expanding other elements of the
program, such as music and audio for games, songwriting,
and more.
The art and craft of film music demands a combination
of skills and sensitivities that make it both very challenging
and deeply rewarding. From the dramatic to the compositional
to the technical, our students gain these skills, preparing
them for a career in music for film, television, video games
and other media.

Thank you for your interest in the Pacific Northwest
Film Scoring Program.
Since
1997, we have been training composers—and providing
learning opportunities for musicians—in the art of
film scoring. Our graduates have gone on to score a variety
of both short and feature-length films, documentaries, interactive
games, commercials, television programs and other productions
that require original music composition.
With our regular one year "core classes"—portions
of which which are-also offered in condensed intensive two-week
summer programs—and various related supplemental courses,
we are pleased to offer professional training to students
and composers interested in pursuing a career in this challenging
but rewarding discipline.
